Tino
How to use Tino
Use Tino as a local accounting and expense-recording tool. Manual entry is always available; receipt scanning is an optional shortcut when a source document exists.
OCR is an input aid, not an authoritative accounting result. Review important dates, merchants or vendors, amounts, categories, and notes before relying on a record.
1. Choose a workspace
Use Private for everyday spending and household records. Use Professional for business expenses and accounting-oriented records. Switching workspaces changes the context you are viewing; it does not move or merge existing records.
2. Create a record manually
Manual entry is a first-class workflow. Enter the date, merchant or vendor, amount, category, items, memo, and other relevant fields directly. A receipt is not required to create a record.
3. Scan a receipt when useful
When you have a paper or digital receipt, use the camera workflow to capture it. Tino can run text recognition on the device and create an editable draft from the recognized text. The scan is a source for a record, not the record itself.
4. Review OCR suggestions
OCR can misread names, dates, amounts, tax information, or line items. Check uncertain fields and correct them before confirmation. Tino may also suggest previously learned merchant or vendor information; treat those suggestions as assistance rather than guaranteed accounting decisions.
5. Organize and review saved records
Use History or Records to search saved entries. Use Review for records that need attention. Private can also use calendar and spending insights to understand activity by date, category, or merchant.
6. Export records intentionally
Use Export when you need CSV, JSON, or another supported file for your own workflow. Exporting creates a copy outside Tino, so the destination app, folder, or service you choose may then control that copy.
7. Back up and restore
Manual backup creates a data-only file containing Tino records, OCR text, line items, categories, review state, and merchant rules. Receipt image files and app settings are not included. Android automatic backup is disabled for Tino record data. Store backup files securely because they can contain sensitive financial information. Restoring replaces the current local Tino data shown in the restore confirmation.
8. Privacy and offline use
Core record management and on-device OCR are designed to work without sending accounting content to a Tino cloud service. Tino does not intentionally include accounting content in advertising or analytics payloads. AdMob, Firebase, Google Play, and Android services can still process technical device, app, advertising, crash, diagnostic, or performance information. See the Privacy Policy for details.
