Tino
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
Tino is a privacy-centered standalone accounting and expense-recording app. Your accounting content is kept separate from advertising and diagnostic data, and core record management does not require a Tino cloud account.
1. Records and information you create
Tino may process dates, merchant or vendor names, amounts, line items when available, spending categories, accounting categories, review state, memos, OCR text, and other information that you enter or correct. These are accounting and expense records, not merely “receipt records.” They are stored as local app data on your device.
2. Camera access
Tino uses the device camera only when you choose to scan a receipt or other supported source document and grant camera permission. If camera permission is not granted, camera OCR is unavailable, but manual entry and other non-camera features remain available. You can change camera permission in Android settings.
3. Source images and on-device OCR
Captured receipt images are used for OCR processing and are not retained as saved record images after text recognition in the current app configuration. Tino stores the resulting editable record data instead. OCR is processed on the device, and Tino does not intentionally upload captured receipt images or OCR-derived accounting content to an external OCR server as part of the normal workflow.
4. Local storage
Saved records, classifications, review state, learned merchant or vendor rules, and related app data are stored locally on the device. The developer does not remotely browse or manage those local accounting records through a Tino cloud account.
5. Information Tino does not intentionally send to ads or analytics
Tino does not intentionally send accounting record contents, OCR results, merchant or vendor names, purchased-item information, record amounts, spending categories, accounting categories, review classifications, or user memos to advertising or analytics services. These fields are not intended to be used as advertising-targeting data.
6. Google AdMob
Tino uses Google AdMob for advertising. Depending on device settings, consent choices, region, and Google configuration, AdMob may process advertising identifiers, IP address, device and app information, ad impressions and interactions, and technical information that may be used to estimate approximate location. Google processes this information under its own privacy policies and terms. Tino does not intentionally provide your saved accounting content or receipt contents to AdMob for advertising.
7. Firebase and diagnostics
Tino uses Firebase services for app quality, analytics, crash reporting, performance, or related technical purposes. Depending on the enabled Firebase services, Google may process app instance or installation identifiers, device model, operating-system version, app version, crash data, diagnostic data, performance information, and technical app-interaction information. Tino is designed not to include accounting contents, merchant or vendor names, amounts, notes, or OCR text in Firebase Analytics parameters, Crashlytics custom keys, or other diagnostic payloads.
8. Google Play and Android services
Google Play and Android may communicate with Google for app distribution, updates, licensing, security, compatibility, diagnostics, and crash reporting. Those services may process device, installation, app-version, and technical diagnostic information according to Google’s own policies. This technical platform traffic is separate from Tino’s locally stored accounting content.
9. Private and Professional workspaces
Private and Professional are separate working contexts inside Tino. Switching workspaces does not move or merge existing records. The selected workspace changes which record types, categories, summaries, and export options are emphasized.
10. Exporting and sharing data
Tino can export record data to files or pass a file to another app through Android sharing or file-selection features. This happens only after you explicitly start an export, save, open, or share action. After data is provided to another app, folder, device, or storage provider, that destination’s privacy and security practices apply.
11. Access to files and other apps
When you choose a file, export destination, backup location, or share target, Tino may interact with file managers, cloud-storage apps, email apps, messaging apps, spreadsheet apps, or other apps you select. Tino does not automatically browse and upload unrelated files from your device.
12. Manual backup and restore
Manual backup is data-only. It can include Tino records, OCR text, line items, categories, review state, and merchant rules. It does not include receipt image files or app settings. Android automatic backup is disabled for Tino record data. Backup files can contain sensitive financial information, so store them securely. Restoring a backup replaces the current local Tino data described by the restore confirmation.
13. Sale of user data
The developer does not sell your saved accounting records or the personal information contained in those records. Advertising and platform providers may process their own technical data as described above, but Tino does not sell your saved accounting content to them.
14. Data retention and deletion
Local records are generally kept until you delete them, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app. Data previously exported, shared, or backed up may remain at the destination you selected and must be deleted there separately. Removing data from Tino does not automatically remove copies that already exist outside the app.
15. Security
Tino is designed to keep accounting records local and avoid unnecessary transmission of private accounting content. No software, device, operating system, network, or third-party service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your device, Android version, and any exported or backup files appropriately secured.
16. Children and minors
Tino is not designed to intentionally collect personal information from children. Where appropriate, minors should use the app with the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
17. Accounting, tax, legal, and OCR accuracy
OCR results, merchant recognition, category suggestions, amounts, and other extracted or suggested information may be incomplete or incorrect. Tino does not guarantee accounting, tax, legal, or financial accuracy. Verify important records against original documents and obtain professional advice where necessary.
18. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when app functionality, third-party services, laws, or Google Play requirements change. The updated policy becomes effective when published in the app or through another appropriate publication method. For privacy questions, use the developer contact information shown on Tino’s Google Play listing.
